The Earth Partners identifies, designs, and executes large-scale landscape restoration projects. We develop businesses that achieve market-clearing returns from conventional revenue streams such as timber, biomass, agriculture, and offer a significant upside from non-traditional revenue streams such as water, carbon, and other environmental market products. While a carbon market is not necessary for most of our investment decisions, we are developing a long term portfolio of low cost carbon and water quality rights that could have substantial value. We deliver on this value proposition by:
Improving degraded lands that are undervalued due to misperceived restoration costs—such lands offer significant value after restoration work (the ‘brownfield re-development’ model)
Developing investment-grade proof for non-traditional revenue streams (e.g., conservation biomass, lesser-used native tree species for forest products, carbon payments, water quality payments, wetland banking, and biodiversity valuation)
Understanding and influencing the policy drivers that enhance the future value of land-based revenue streams
Utilizing long-standing relationships with government, NGOs, farmer organizations, and land-based investment entities
Drawing upon the wide and varied experiences of our existing ‘in-house’ ecological/technical teams at a fraction of the cost of building such an organization
Sourcing projects through the international reputation and wide reach of our venture partners, Applied Ecological Services and Brinkman & Associates Reforestation
