The Earth Partners is a premier specialist in ecosystem-oriented, land-based climate change mitigation projects that are guided by sound scientific methodologies. Through our global network of scientists, investors and service providers, The Earth Partners develops, manages and trades environmental assets by creating land-based climate change mitigation projects. These projects generate carbon credits and other environmental services revenue streams.
Such projects are referred to as PES, or “Payment for Ecosystem Services” projects because the value of the ecosystem services is used to generate the financial resources that fund them. For example, in wetland mitigation banking, conservation banking, carbon credit programs, stream mitigation or flood mitigation programs, or in nutrient trading, PES funding mechanisms enable the restoration and perpetual stewardship of natural resources and agricultural landscapes.
To promote cost-effective, scientifically rigorous land restoration and management practices, The Earth Partners influences environmental policy, regulation, standards and markets. In this, we partner with landowners, government agencies, corporations, farmers and non-governmental organizations who value healthy land and want to ensure its sustainable future. Our services include:
- Environmental Asset Development. The Earth Partners offers a unique set of land-based technical sampling and measurement skills to develop robust PES methodologies. Once developed, we apply these methodologies to create the necessary environmental asset Project Design Documents.
- Project Origination and Management. The Earth Partners designs a wide variety of sustainable land restoration and management projects, providing turnkey project development services principally as a vested project participant.
- PES Trading. To develop PES Trading projects, The Earth Partners leverages our operational expertise in partnership with landowners, investors and land developers (utilities, sustainable real estate developers, conservation organizations, etc.). By acquiring and enhancing degraded or underutilized land – often increasing land productivity – we’re able to maximize revenue streams from environmental commodity assets.
